Made from about two meters of fabric, the Charisse cocoon jacket is an *extra-special* piece. The textile is handwoven by the Iranun indigenous community in the Southern Philippines, while the embroidery is traditional Tingguian embroidery of the namesake indigenous community in the Northern Philippines. This artisan collaboration was impossible ages ago due to the nature of the country being an archipelago of 7,000+ islands with travel and transport challenges, but thankfully, not impossible today! The handmade textile created on a manual loom is so precious that it wasn't cut at all, just combined strategically in order to have zero-waste. No two are alike!
